From the EditorWelcome to our May newsletter! Have we seen the last of the rain for the Summer? The weather so far in May has been unpredictable with showers and strong winds not normally seen at this time of the year. The rain will be good for filling up the Cyprus reservoirs and maybe the water cuts will be less severe this Summer! For those looking for some 'retail therapy', the new shopping mall in Limassol opens at the end of this month. 'Tiffany Shopping Mall' will have about 150 retail outlets as well as an ice rink (the first in Cyprus) and a kiddy land. |

Springing into Summer! Now that the light evenings are here isn't it time to relax and enjoy a meal out? Emma and Stu at Mojitos Bar and Grill in Pernera provide a variety of modern and contemporary dishes and drinks in a relaxing atmosphere. Try their namesake, the Mojito cocktail for a refreshing summer taste.
Don't forget to apply the frontline to your pets during the hot summer months. The warm weather is a breeding ground for ticks that are just waiting to prey on dogs and cats running around in the long grass. Tasos and Maria at the Paralimni Veterinary Clinic are at hand to help with everyday animal care to more serious emergency animal assistance. |

Things to do in CyprusNow that the tourist season has officially started buses are running more frequently throughout the resort areas. The Waterpark in Ayia Napa is now in full swing open 7 days a week. The park is themed on Ancient Greece with rides such as 'The Fall of Icarus' and 'The Drop of Atlantis'. Some rides are more daring and not for the faint hearted than others! If you are looking for something completely different, why not visit the Mazotos Camel Park where you can participate in the camel safari ride. The kids can enjoy playing in the Luna Park. If you are in Paphos, why not check out the Paphos Bird Park which also has a childrens farm and restaurant. |

Labour Day here in Cyprus was celebrated with festivities in the towns and villages and a few peaceful demonstrations. During this month is the Cyprus Anthesteria Flower Festival in Larnaca and Limassol - always promising to be a colourful affair.
